IDB_a035 — Motor Stuck

Full alert identifier: IDB_a035_motorStuck

Alert description

The IDB pump motor is stuck.

Potential impact

Only Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) may be available. The IDB enters fallback mode and relinquishes controlling status to the Redundant Control Unit (RCU). The RCU may assume controlling status and perform backup brake boost, but Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Brake Traction Control (BTC), Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), Panic Brake Assist (PBA), Hydraulic Fade Compenration (HFC), Controlled Deceleration via Parking brake (CDP), Brake Disc Wipe (BDW), External Brake Request (EBR), and Secondary Collision Mitigation (SCM) may be unavailable. Increased braking effort may be necessary to achieve desired deceleration. The vehicle should be driven with extreme caution.

Set condition

The measured motor rotor position is not changing in response to applied currents, or measured brake pressure does not follow the target pressure.

Clear condition

Clears when the motor position origin and pump piston housing walls are set normally at the start of the next power cycle. If the condition persists, the IDB module may require replacement.
