IDB_a031 — Solenoid Valve Stuck

Full alert identifier: IDB_a031_solenoidValveStuck

Alert description

An IDB solenoid valve is stuck open or closed.

Potential impact

The IDB enters fallback mode and relinquishes controlling status to the Redundant Control Unit (RCU). The RCU may assume controlling status and perform backup brake boost, but Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Brake Traction Control (BTC), Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), Panic Brake Assist (PBA), Hydraulic Fade Compensation (HFC), Controlled Deceleration via Parking brake (CDP), Brake Disc Wipe (BDW), External Brake Request (EBR), and Secondary Collision Mitigation (SCM) may be unavailable. Increased braking effort may be necessary to achieve desired deceleration. The vehicle should be driven with extreme caution.

Set condition

The IDB detects a mechanical or electrical solenoid valve issue.

Clear condition

Clears when no solenoid valves are detected as stuck during the next power cycle. If the condition persists, the IDB module may require replacement.
