IDB_a012 — Motor Generic Fault
Full alert identifier: IDB_a012_motorGenericFault
Alert description
An IDB hydraulic pump motor hardware issue has occured.
Potential impact
Only Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) may be available. The IDB enters fallback mode and relinquishes controlling status to the Redundant Control Unit (RCU). The RCU may assume controlling status and perform backup brake boost, but Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Brake Traction Control (BTC), Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), Panic Brake Assist (PBA), Hydraulic Fade Compenration (HFC), Controlled Deceleration via Parking brake (CDP), Brake Disc Wipe (BDW), External Brake Request (EBR), and Secondary Collision Mitigation (SCM) may be unavailable. Increased braking effort may be necessary to achieve desired deceleration. The vehicle should be driven with extreme caution.
Set condition
An IDB hydraulic pump motor hardware issue is detected.
Clear condition
Clears when no pump motor issue is detected at the start of the next power cycle. If the condition persists, the IDB module may require replacement.
