IDB_a001 — Mcu Generic Fault
Full alert identifier: IDB_a001_mcuGenericFault
Alert description
An internal software/hardware issue is detected on the the IDB MCU.
Potential impact
The IDB enters fallback mode and relinquishes controlling status to the Redundant Control Unit (RCU). The RCU may assume controlling status and perform backup brake boost, but Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Brake Traction Control (BTC), Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), Panic Brake Assist (PBA), Hydraulic Fade Compensation (HFC), Controlled Deceleration via Parking brake (CDP), Brake Disc Wipe (BDW), External Brake Request (EBR), and Secondary Collision Mitigation (SCM) may be unavailable. Increased braking effort may be necessary to achieve desired deceleration. The vehicle should be driven with extreme caution.
Set condition
An internal microcontroller software/hardware issue is detected.
Clear condition
Clears when no internal issue is detected after changing operation cycle. If the condition persists, the IDB module may require replacement.
