Alert description
The vehicle gateway (GTW) has not received an expected control information from the Steering Torque Overlay (STO) electronic control unit (ECU) via the controller area network (CAN) within the required time period, indicating the STO ECU may be unavailable and power steering may be limited or unavailable.
Potential impact
Power steering and Autopilot features depending on STO, including Autosteer, may be limited or unavailable.
Set condition
The GTW does not receive the control information CAN message from STO ECU at the expected frequency while the vehicle is in Drive.
Clear condition
The GTW receives the control information CAN message from STO ECU as expected. Clears automatically when the vehicle exits Drive, and may be resolved completely (does not set again) when starting the next drive cycle.
