Alert description
One or more of the messages the Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) receives periodically from the Pedal Monitor (PM) ECU is not received, indicating PM ECU may be unavailable (MIA).
Potential impact
The level of assist for the power steering may be decreased, and the External Angle Controller (EAC) functionality may be inhibited
Set condition
The EPAS ECU does not receive one or more of the expected messages from the PM ECU within the expected time frame.
Clear condition
The EPAS ECU starts receiving the expected messages from the PM ECU.

With Service Mode Plus enabled, open Service Alerts → All. Review the other alerts for clues to the cause of EPAS3P_a157.
