Alert description
PM_State2 message counter value the Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) receives periodically is not valid or not incrementing correctly.
Potential impact
The level of assist for the power steering may be decreased.
Set condition
The EPAS ECU does not receive correctly imcrementing counter value for PM_state2 message from PM ECU within the expected time frame.
Clear condition
The EPAS ECU starts receiving the expected message counter from the PM ECU.
Check other alerts
With Service Mode Plus enabled, open Service Alerts → All. Review the other alerts for clues to the cause of EPAS3P_a158.
